Eventually, you can let go of the mantra and find yourself in the place of stillness and silence that is the goal of meditation. A few words about the facilitator: Marlia teaches classical guitar and composes, writes lyrics, arranges and records her songs, sometimes only with natural instruments and sometimes with the help of loopers, samples and effect pedals, where the voice always plays a leading role. "Transcending realities" Improv soundscape by Marlia @La Costa degli Aromi, IT - 0 views

  •
This video was shot just once with 2 simultaneous cameras and a Zoom Q2N recorder, improvising with instruments such as guitar, handpan Annaziska C#, shruti box, percussion, chimes, bells, natural sounds and the Voice. I am also using Boss RC202 for loops and effects, Freeze by Electroharmonix, Delay by TC Electronics and Analog Tremolo & Reverb pedal by Strymon, as I wish to recreate long, sustained sounds from the guitar. Next time you have 40 minutes, connect a good pair of speakers or headphones to your device, sit back and enjoy the journey. Our Voice is the King Instrument, we can do anything and everything we want with it, when we learn how to use it efficiently and effortlessly. The piano that hides inside a table | DVICE - 2 views

  •
Pianos are wonderful instruments, but they're also bulky. You need to dedicate a pretty serious amount of space to them, so they're tough to fit in small apartments. This amazing Piano Table solves that problem by hiding a piano inside a handsome table. Designed by Georg Bohle, it's perfect as a kitchen or dining room table. When you want to play, just clear the plates off, open the lid, and go nuts. It can be yours now for $6,000.
  •
This is amazing! Good to have one of these these to keep my heard going!

At first, I thought this was a bench, and was gonna call it "Playing by Rear", but then I read the article a little more deeply...

Carly Simon reveals 'You're So Vain' clue - CNN.com - 0 views

  • Simon, 64, gave an interview to Uncut magazine about the backward whispering, which prompted the U.K. tabloid The Sun to report that "David" is record executive David Geffen. But Simon's publicist disputed the theory. "The man's first name is David," she told CNNRadio, "but it could be one of many Davids." The Sun's theory revolves around the idea that Simon recorded the song to express displeasure at Geffen's signing of a rival, Joni Mitchell, for his record label, Asylum Records. Simon wasn't on Asylum, but her label, Elektra, merged with it in 1972, the year her album "No Secrets," containing "You're So Vain," was released. Geffen was put in charge of Elektra/Asylum. Simon is on record as being uncomfortable with Geffen. In Jac Holzman's oral history of the label, "Follow the Music," she said, "[The merger] was devastating. It was like I was a child of divorce -- my father was leaving me and now I had David Geffen as a stepfather." Simon has long played possum (to paraphrase one of her album titles) about the identity of the "You're So Vain" character, who travels by Lear Jet to witness an eclipse and, cuttingly, "probably think[s] this song is about you." At one point she said he was a composite; other times she has maintained he has certain letters in his name. NBC executive Dick Ebersol paid $50,000 at a charity auction for the revelation and a live performance of the song. Rumors have focused on Warren Beatty, Mick Jagger and Kris Kristofferson, among others. Beatty has said he believes it's about him. In a 2002 interview with CNN.com, Simon said that "You're So Vain" wasn't the only song about the man, whomever it might be. "There are always clues in other songs. The guy has repeatedly appeared in my songs," she said.
  •
Has Carly Simon finally told the world the subject of "You're So Vain"? In a new version of the 1972 hit song from her album "Never Been Gone," the singer whispers a name during an instrumental break. Played backward, the name is revealed to be "David."

60 Sec Handpan challenge 2019 v1.0 | Marlia Coeur - 0 views

  •
Greetings to the family! After making the decision to fulfil my current 4-month-long Indian/Asian/NZ tour without any other instrument but my voice, this is what I could come up with during my very-much-indeed musical stay in Pai, Thailand, right after the PanSiam gathering 2019. In one of our days there with Leon Christian Karmameleon, between open mics, music performances, singing workshops, private vocal lessons, bonfire circlesinging, spontaneous street/stage improvising, scooter riding and hot spring indulging, we met Tommaso Caenazzo (the owner of this handpan @432hz) at our favourite chai shop and thought we could work a bit on 11/8, plus instrument plus voice! There is a much better video version with regards to the quality of music & sound, however this one is hilarious - at least to me! - so I decided to post this one. Thanks @Stephanie Bender for the nomination! I Love You and can't wait to see you at HONA2019! I nominate the beautiful spirits: RRyusuque Ishida Mia Lev Aldous Castro Do you want to develop your voice to its full potential, so you can use it in a natural, relaxed way? Palisandros [Παλίσανδρος] :: Marlia project - 0 views

  •
Today's Libra full moon is helping out with the official release of my new song "Palisandros" (meaning "Rosewood", one of the main kinds of tonal wood used in traditional instrument-making), which I have been procrastinating for some time now, because of how vulnerable and exposed it makes me feel in a lot of many different ways. First and foremost, singing in my native Cypriot dialect; this is the first song I have written in Cypriot. It brings tears to my eyes every single time. Partly I know why; partly I am waiting to explore.. Secondly, there is nothing fancy about this recording; yet the story is interesting: I conceived the melody 3 years ago while rehabilitating from a knee surgery and being hosted in Greece by my dear friend & exceptional guitarist Bill Stathopoulos, I wrote the lyrics while trying it on the piano of my brilliant songsister Arianna Tondo ヅ in Italy, I recorded it with special creature's Benjamin Hedengran Andersen classical guitar in a soundproofless hut in India, I used the chimes, rattles, cajon and djembe belonging to multi-talented musician and top-notch father David Esteban, while shooting the video in the wilderness of the Philippines with charismatic and tribal soulsister Dona Tumacder-Esteban, finally mixing and producing it in the company of my dogs in Cyprus. Lastly, I would like to dedicate this song to mother Earth and the four elements. And I would like this song to be a reminder to all of us: That no matter how tough people wish to look on the outside, remember there is a soft, tender and sensitive part somewhere deep inside them, that got trapped there for one reason or another. By all means, it wants to come out. If only we give it a chance, it wants to come out. And each one of us can help somebody else bring their trapped part out and breathe again anew. Each one of us can help another person lift that weight off their shoulders. There is surely a way. Each one of us is a key to unlock the buried stuff lying deep in

JAMily Fusion Band - live improv at Varanasi, India | Marlia Coeur - 0 views

On 23rd December 2018, a group of friends & strangers, students & teachers, Europeans & Indians, got together for an experimental, sacred, high-energy JAMily concert at a vegan restaurant in Varanasi, India. This is an excerpt of our language of music! At minute 7, on a totally different context, I was inspired to lay down some vocals with lyrics from the Cypriot traditional song "Ela korou na doume ta mavra sou ta mathkia". The video includes our journey from the guesthouse to the venue with our instruments and our smiles, through holy Ganga river! Besides our Indian Classical Music studies with our masters during our stay in Varanasi that month, we were inspired to put forward a methodological tool, called THE ELEMENT KEY SYSTEM, which is essentially a sign language for musicians to use in order to conduct one another while improvising with music; and expanded to applications to life itself! Stay tuned for more info and Element Key workshops throughout Europe in the summer 2019!
