exploring the composition process

The Ping Music Project is a pilot remote music education project in Victoria, Australia. It is happening during February and March 2009. Students from four schools in the Wimmera region of Victoria will be participating. Together we will be composing short compositions/sound stories and uploading them to this website. Ping is the result of the collaboration between the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, The Song Room, and Country Education Project. Compose an "animal sound song" by selecting loops.

The Japanese Federation of Construction Contractors have created Build Up!, a site which lets you "build" a skyscraper of music made by construction tools. Most of the site is in Japanese but it is pretty easy to work out what is going on.

Drag and drop different music loops ontot the stage and then record.

Make a nutty sounding Christmas Carol (complete with elves!) or play a pre-loaded carol and then send it to your friends. Just a bit of fun.
