JazzWax is a daily-updated blog by the WSJ writer/contributor Marc Myers. There is a wide array of jazz that gets presented here, along with other styles and sometimes some pop-culture posts. There are always youtube links to audio examples of the artists he profiles, a great resource.

Wynton Marsalis is arguably the face of Jazz in America right now, and his website is a great place to find material, resources, and examples of jazz, jazz advocacty, and music education. I visit this site often to check tour dates and look for new jazz news.

This website is the internet presence for WBGO, a jazz radio station out of Newark, NJ. Along with the ability to live-stream their broadcast, there is a wealth of articles on current performers and their albums, as well as jazz news from around the East Coast. I share new music with my students that I've found here often.

Home Cookin with Hard Bop : Google Play - 0 views

This google play music channel is a great station to share examples of the modern language of small group jazz with students. Cannonball Adderly, Art Blakey, Blue Mitchell, John Coltrane, and many more can be heard. A great resource for hard-to-find or expensive examples of small group jazz.

Alex Noppe - downloads - 0 views

The Improvisation Handbooks that Alex Noppe has put together and made available for free are great resources. More methodical and up-to-date than Jamey Aebersold's jazz handbook. I use these daily in my combo teaching.

Studio Jams - YouTube - 0 views

The Studio Jams youtube channel is a promo channel for the line of Studio Jams DVDS, but is filled with many modern covers of classic tunes, all played by professional musicians in a professional studio. A great resource for examples of jazz/fusion musicians really plying their craft.

This conservatory trained bass player has a great modern take on jazz and performance. He goes out of his way to share his expertise in short videos that have a passionate delivery and lively editing. Many of his videos are about jazz theory and music theory, but he does Q&A sessions as well.

jazz at lincoln center - YouTube - 0 views

Jazz at Lincoln Center's youtube channel is a great repository of both live performances by the JALC Orchestra and instructional and background videos on jazz techniques and history. I share something from this channel to my students on a weekly basis.
