When people think of instruments that help with direction finding, the first one that springs to mind is probably the magnetic compass. It is the oldest instrument for navigation and has been a vital tool for navigators at sea for centuries. The compass allows ships to steer a selected course.

Acupuncture is advocated by some for pain control but there are doubts about its effectiveness and its safety. Investigators from the Universities of Exeter&Plymouth (Exeter, UK) and the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (Daejeon, South Korea) evaluated systematic reviews of acupuncture in order to explore the issue.

Thanks Lily I looked over this and its a really helpful website! it gives great infomation and insite into not just how the silk road effected china but also more in depth about the items that were traded and the countries that used the road which most other sources didnt have. (:
