Playground - Fun online activities For Your Classroom - a database of educational materials searchable by thematic units, activities, tours, and grade level. - Consider the kind of art object you are looking for. Examples: sculpture, print, painting, book, oil on canvas, watercolor, etc. - Try using the continent, country, or culture of origin for an object. Examples: Africa, France, and Maya. For works from Walker Art Center you can also search by an artist's gender or ethnicity. - Often searches for aesthetic movements in art history, such as Impressionism or Minimalism, can produce disappointing results, as these terms are not frequently used in the database. Instead, search for an artist related to the movement (Monet or LeWitt) a related country (France or United States), or related dates (1874 or 1966). You may want to try a Boolean search, combining these terms. - Try using numbers and the wildcard to search for date ranges. By entering 17* the search returns will include all dates in the 18th century as they begin with 17. Be aware that this will also return numbers other than dates, such as dimensions. Library & Archives - audio and video clip and supporting texts such as labels, docent manuals, bibliographies Art Gallery - collections from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Walker Art Center
