"In previous posts, I have summed up my position on Khan Academy as follows: Khan Academy teaches only one part of mathematics-procedures-and that isn't the most important part. Writing about mathematics, developing a disposition for mathematical thinking, demonstrating a conceptual understanding of mathematical topics are all more important than procedures. That said, procedures are still important, and Khan Academy provides one venue where students can learn them. In the end, I think every young person should have an account there. Even if only one in a thousand or ten thousand benefit, that would be a terrific outcome. "

Students will learn about daylight. They will collect data on sunrise and sunset in the town or city where they live.  They will understand the data pattern and offer a hypothesis about  the reasons that the amount of daylight varies during the year.

"Lesson McMaths Fast Food Challenge: This Lesson Covers both curriculum areas of Maths and Health including percentages, conversion & Calculations, Food tables, nutritional Value and Recommended Daily Intake. I did this series of lessons earlier in the year with my students and it was one of the best learning experiences we had as we learnt a great deal about nutrition and some pretty open ended maths strategies over the course of the week that it runs for. Students were really engaged learning about these 'fast' foods they eat regularly and the excessive amount of calories they consume if they are not selective when eating out at fast fast food venues. More so some of them were shocked at the amount of exercise required to burn off that Big Mac, Coke and Fries and really started to make the connection that 'fast food' was a 'slow slog' to burn off."

This is more a maths than a Ml resource but...."This is an excellent place to go if you want to understand how to complete problems in basic math, trigonometry, calculus, or algebra. Mr. McKeague is a mathematician who offers clear examples on math problems through a video. He is joined by various students who also give eamples to math problems. The videos found here have super quality and would definitely help to instruct or teach difficult math explanations. This site is free, and they offer a free subscription if you plan to use the site often. When you join, you can create playlists because a login has been created for your usage." Amusements in Mathematics is a collection of mathematical puzzles and brainteasers from English author and mathematician Henry Ernest Dudeney. The book includes over 450 illustrations. These games are no longer directly accessible due to the excessive amount of bandwidth they consume but you can download and use it.
