  I am still trying to come up with the best way of using Diigo and this group to promote the Millennium Development Goals. The reality is that this is a part time, learn-while-doing effort. It is also very expansive area to write about. Any one of the 8 Millennium Development Goals could be its own arena of study and discourse. Each particular Millennium Development Goal is only the tip of the Iceberg of the global efforts going on to address poverty and other issues but they do all work together. Hundreds of groups across the planet are working on addressing these challenges and would be even if there had never been a Millennium Declaration. Truth is that I have far more faith in these efforts or those of the UN administrative programs such and UNDP or UNICEF than in the governments themselves. So the challenge is finding a means of organizing dozens of topics (Should we try to go more in-depth? Many topics are complex) and hundreds of change-agent organizations (Should every organization working for eliminating poverty or addressing any of the MDGs be listed whether or not it has any direct relation with the Millennium Development Goals) into a cohesive system that can be efficiently (read easily) updated and promoted without having to give up the day job or having my wife hide my Mac.
