I think in 100 years everyone will know how to program, this relates to how everyone use to hire literate people to read and write letters for them 100 or more years ago.
  •
i agree with eric because the future for computers is large and it will be a very important tool to have especially because there is a lot of computer things out there
  •
learning to program could be reall hard.. mmmkkk so i reccomened taking a class mmmkk so you actually know what you are doing ... mmk
  •
It should stay how it is because if everyone learns programming then jobs in it would decrease because everyone would know how to do it. Like fast food.
  •
I believe that it should stay vocational because computer programming is something that not everyone can do.
  •
Everyone should know the computer language. Computers are becoming more and more important to our lives everyday. And eventually they might control everything. So everyone needs to learn sooner or later.
  •
I somewhat agree with this article, yet it seems incorrect to believe that everyone should have some sort of computer language knowledge. After all, most users just wish to use their computers for day-to-day things such as checking their bank account and email. The knowledge of computer programming isn't needed for them.

Someday computer programming could be as important in our daily lives as reading and writing are today.
  •
I believe that the youth should begin to learn programming. It would be useful in the future.

Although machines will become more apparent in everyday life, the need for a "new standard of literacy" is unnecessary. Programming computers is not and will not be soon a need for all individuals - that's why software developers exist! As mentioned in the article, it's kind of like carpentry or cooking - some people are able to do it, some aren't, and that's just fine.

Learning to code is a great thing to know, but I don't think its so important that everyone should know it. Its not like people will talk to each other in code.
  •
i dont believe everyone should learn code becuase code is like a langauge you dont need everyone to speak all you need is a translator which you can find anywhere its not needed for everyone to know code.

Programming is just another language it should be taught to most people on the fact of how much we are evolving with technology.

Why Absolutely Everyone Needs To Be Software Literate - Forbes - 0 views

Its weird to think that so much of companies from big to small rely on software programs. It seems like to me if a software program stopped working for a day for a bug company it could really make a big impact on it in a very negative way.
