Debategraph home - 0 views

  •
Debategraph provides a powerful way for geographically distributed groups to collaborate in real-time in thinking through complex issues. It does so by enabling groups of any size to externalise, visualize, question, and evaluate all of the considerations that anyone thinks might be relevant to the issues at hand - and by facilitating an intelligent, constructive dialogue around those issues. Whether the group is a small team, an organization, a network of organizations, or society as a whole, the ability to augment our individual capacity to choose wisely in the face of the complex, multi-dimensional problems we confront today is ever more pressing.

The Copyright Site - 0 views

  •
This site is dedicated to helping educators everywhere in the United States understand the issue of copyright. As an educator, there are three main issues you need to understand. They are: the Public Domain, Fair Use, and Intellectual Property. We have tried to make them as simple as possible, and have included more complex definitions and explanations in more detailed legal-like form if you would like to do more research.

How The Nearpod iPad App Changed An Entire School - Edudemic - 1 views

  •
I have tried to use the Nearpod app here at NIS - Can't get it to work. Tech Dept still working on why. Socrative has the same issue. Gorski had no issues on his iPad at the Tech Office; I couldn't do a thing at Northside. Any suggestions? I agree it could be revolutionary for us!

Why mobile learning? - The Educator's PLN - 0 views

  •
Mobile learning is seen by many as a disruptive technology. This is because it has been identified as a technology which holds great potential to transform the learning and teaching within a classroom. What follows is a mash up presented at the NSWDEC 5th biennial equity conference in 2011 which explains some of the issues

I saw this back in Dec 2010, but couldn't run it on my Mac due to browser issues. I tried it again  in March 2011 and found that it worked with Google Chrome, but still not Safari:( Very cool tool!

    Something to get you thinking...

Despite the provocative headline, did you get the feeling that they were telling you what you already know about quality schools? And unless I just read right past it, I don't think the researcher interviewed parents as part of what leads to academic success, which I thought was interesting since he seems to have researched just about every other group. Thanks for posting--I always enjoy reading stuff like this!
  •
I agree with you Holly. Once again, it's hard to quantify exactly what happens in education. The major issue always has been that public never gets to the heart of the research and basis their opinions on fancy titles and pretty pictures/graphs.

EdTechyness: 3 Ways To Use Google Docs To Schedule Parent Conferences - 2 views

  •
The ability to make changes to the document is an issue for me. We are using Sign Up Genius at Northside. When parents sign up, they provide their email address and they get a reminder a few days before the conference (actual # of days is set by teacher). SU Genius integrates with Google Calendar too! Our guidance counselor used it for her monthly guidance lesson sign up. Participants can go in and change time slots if they need to. I schedule SRI testing with Sign Up Genius. Can you tell I love this site?

In Response to "Redefinition" | Beth Holland - 3 views

I love this post because it states some of the exact same issues that I have with "following" the SAMr model. The swimming pool analogy is the one I use with the teachers. This is a great "find", Sean!
