This article says that living in an urban environment is more eco-friendly than living in the country (even if you buy an "eco-friendly" car, recycle, etc.). This is because apartment building take less space, are easier to heat/cool, and we can walk, bike, or take the train in the city. I have known this a long time.

Yes, I commute by bicycle from Totsuka to Ferris University and Meigaku. My family has no car, and we ride bikes or the train everywhere we go.

Wow, going to the bathroom before you get on a plane helps the environment, according to ANA. It makes the plane a little lighter and emits less CO2. I believe it! I'll do it next time I fly!
