Whether it is a QIPP, a CIP or any other programme, there is a need to have a project management office (PMO), to report on projects in terms of delivery status, activity and financial impact and to ensure projects deliver the expected benefits.

CCGs and NHS Trusts are running many projects and programmes. These may be Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) projects, mental health or cost reduction programmes. These initiatives typically run into millions of pounds and they need to be managed and monitored to ensure their outcomes are on track to be delivered.

It takes very little effort to complete a timesheet each week, but there is a big benefit to project managers and management in having access to this data. Timesheet data can improve project management by developing a more achievable project plan and allocating the correct level of resources.
