Herman Krieger I can't go home again - "Detroit, as I knew it" What do you think of this? Is the change within us all inevitable and make "home" a place that is not physical but personal? From my own experience I think home is where the heart is and my heart is wherever my family lies, As they say, blood is thicker then water my friends.

home can be a release too. the way of calming down or coming back to earth in a way. home is what grounds us when we feel bad or uplifted, not just physical home (where you live) but emotional home, maybe its a frame or mind or a task, music, instrument etc

Krieger is saying that home as he knew it is now gone, and will never come back because over the years it's changed and will never go back to the way it was. In this sense, home is not a physical place because the location hasn't changed, rather the place he remembers and has the greatest sense of belonging.

Afterwardness to me seems like the loss of your first home, the home that seems most familiar…the one that you would have during your childhood. This is what I think i will feel in about 20 years...
