It posts pictures and events that are going on in the schools and is a great way to keep the community and parents involved because everyone uses facebook. This is an easier way then sending out newsletters that rarely make it into the hands of parents.

CNN is a great website for current events of all types, a good way to finish off the class period to educate students in things going on around the world.

Wikipedia that uses social interaction

While it may seem common sense, looking at Wikipedia's "Today in History" section on the front page everyday is a way to engage students into history and make them reflect on the events that happened that day years ago.

Parody music videos that rewrite popular songs to correspond with significant events in history. Pretty Awesome.

This day in History could be used as an introduction to a class to get the students engaged and thinking.

Science Friday is a program on NPR (National Public Radio). It has podcasts, video and activities about science.
