  In Greek Mythology, there were people known as Olympians who were also Gods. There were 14 Olympians, but always no more than 12. The main Olympians or Greek Gods were Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Ares, Hermes, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo, and Artemis. Other Olympians included Persephone who had to spend half of the year in the underworld which symbolizes the winter season. The Olympian, Hades, spent his whole time in the underworld as God of the underworld.
