MathPad Home Page - 0 views

MathPad2 is a prototype Tablet PC application for mathematical problem solving. At the core of its functionality is the novel concept of mathematical sketching, making dynamic illustrations by combining handwritten mathematics and free-form diagrams. MathPad2 is designed so a user can create simple illustrations as if they were working with pencil and paper. Teachers can use MathPad2 to quickly create illustrations to be used in their lessons and students can use the application to aid in their studies. As examples, the screenshot above shows a mathematical sketch for a damped harmonic oscillator. The handwritten mathematics is associated to the drawing using a simple gestural user interface. The diagram will animate according to this mathematical specification. Users can also change system parameters to see how the oscillator is affected under various conditions. The screenshot below shows MathPad2's graphing capability. Users can simply write down mathematical expressions and graph them using a simple line gesture.

jsMath: jsMath Home Page - 0 views

The jsMath package provides a method of including mathematics in HTML pages that works across multiple browsers under Windows, Macintosh OS X, Linux and other flavors of unix. It overcomes a number of the shortcomings of the traditional method of using images to represent mathematics: jsMath uses native fonts, so they resize when you change the size of the text in your browser, they print at the full resolution of your printer, and you don't have to wait for dozens of images to be downloaded in order to see the mathematics in a web page. There are also advantages for web-page authors, as there is no need to preprocess your web pages to generate any images, and the mathematics is entered in TeX form, so it is easy to create and maintain your web pages.

The visitor does not have anything to install on his system: neither fonts, nor plugins... * Advantages for the webmasters : o Only Php (with the GD library) and some fonts are required. o PhpMathPublisher is simple to install and use. You can convert a mathematical text with only one php command. o It can be easily used by CMS systems, weblogs and forums. o PhpMathPublisher creates cross-browser pages. o The png images created by the script are transparent and can be placed in any page.
