The AT&T Hackathon will take place on June 15th and 16th at the MaRS Discovery District. The event is designed for technical and non-technical attendees to build apps and compete for prizes.

MaRS Best Practices event - Partnerships - A Necessary Evil will be held on May 8th at the MaRS Centre. Participants will learn about the pros and cons of entering a new business partnership along with what to look for in a partner.

The Business of Aging Summit was held at the MaRS Centre on April 30th. Innovations were displayed that were designed to help employers better engage mature workers such as Workplace Institute, Cogniciti, The Exercise Doctor, etc. Joseph F. Coughlin, PhD, the Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab and Geoff Mulgan, CEO from NESTA spoke.

Ben Casnocha will be speaking at the MaRS Centre on May 16th. Casnocha wrote a NY Times best selling book The Start-Up of You written with LinkedIn co-founder.

The Graham Boeckh Foundation had a symposium on the "Next Frontier in Mental Health": From Research to Patients" that was held at the MaRS Centre on April 24.

Why Should I Care event took place on April 16th. Dr. Ilse Treurnicht, CEO of MaRS Discovery District discussed how the development of Phase 2 will help to build tomorrow's knowledge-based economy.

"The Honourable Brad Duguid, Ontario's Minister of Economic Development and Innovation, presented the ORION Leadership awards on April 16th to high school student Marshall Zhang, John Helliker of Sheridan College and University of Toronto professor Dr. Shana Kelley." 

2012 Sanofi BioGENEius Challenge Canada (SBCC) is a national biotechnology research competition that inspires students to pursue a career in biotechnology. The event took place at the MaRS Centre on April 19th.

The event will be held at the MaRS Centre on April 24, 2012.
