BCC objective was to determine the status of current and future biochip technologies and products, and to assess their potential for global growth to 5 years 2011-2016. We were particularly interested in describing the type of market, biochips (DNA chips, protein microarrays, microarray emerging lab-on-a-chip), the function (gene expression, genotyping, micro-RNAs, epigenetics, the capture sequence) and end users of research and development ((T & D) tools, drug discovery and development, diagnostics, sequencing, applied).

The goal of BCC in this study was to determine the status of current and emerging technologies and products of biochips and assess their potential for growth around the world for a period of 5 years from 2011 to 2016.

This growth is assigned to increasing programs in cancer malignancy diagnostics and concept profiling, the period in individualized remedies, and government financing.
