MAKE | Super Sewable Circuitry - Sylvia's Mini Maker Show - 0 views

  • I bet you didn’t know that there’s a soft side to the hard edged fiberglass boarded electronics you know and love, and it’s called soft circuitry! The copper clad board in through-the-hole electronics can actually be replaced by cloth, and the traces replaced with conductive thread, allowing your projects to light up, and still be huggable and wear friendly. Today we’ll show you how to make your very own glowey-eyed cuddle monster you can sew together with the threadbare essentials. Lets go!

This project shows you how to add lights to your cuddly handmade softies. I think this could be used in a library program because DIY and other handmade project books are very popular. The combination of technology and softies would appeal to a broad audience.

Amazing how with a little know how, practice and skill a person can make about anything. I would love to be able to blow glass...

How awesome- I love glass blowing! Who knew that craftsmanship like woodworking and glass blowing would be considered maker, but then again, when you think about it, it is where the notion got started.

What an interesting video. I love the idea of craftsmanship. This is not something you can outsource.
