It is for this reason that calcium products, especially milk or yogurt should be included in everyday diet. An average woman's body requires 200mg of calcium each day. Along with calcium, foods rich in magnesium (like leafy greens, beans, nuts, bananas, dark chocolate and avocados) should be consumed as they help in absorption of calcium into the bones which thereby strengthens them. Women who have consumed enough calcium before the age of 30 and have maintained proper weight through their life are at a much lower risk of developing symptoms of osteoarthritis in the later ages.
