There has been another page rank update in the last couple of weeks but it seems as though this has only affected sites which formerly had a rank of zero. When will google update the page rank of all of the other web sites which previously showed a page rank the problem lots of people are inquiring is?

That latest update seems to be nearly the same as the prior page rank update in which the older internet sites were also not updated. When reading on various internet sites about other webmasters thoughts on this present trend, I have found a number of factors as to why this could be happening.

Over the last year or two there have been a serious large number of link exchange programs which have been developed. As the people who enter these programs are in a way cheating to get to the top this have proven to be very popular but are frowned upon by google. Most people are aware of the value of backward links and these link change plans make it super easy to have them. In obviously states in the google instructions that webmasters shouldn't indulge in these link change programs. Webmasters who still proceed are at risk at having their site or internet sites banned.

The issue might be that it's very hard for search-engines like google to determine which links that each site obtains are from these link exchanges and which links are real real and legitimate links. It's possible that google is near finding a formula for this problem and is slowing any page rank improvements on older sites until most of the finishing touches are accomplished. My advice is always to never take part in any of these link exchange programs and that in the event that you are in a single, to turn out of it when possible.

There are numerous legitimate means of promoting a website for example via creating articles and by having good material which will encourage other webmasters to want to link to your site.

I've to mention that for someone like myself who works very hard to promote my own sites, that it's very frustrating not to manage to see the improvements in the page rank, as when I see my sites increase in page rank it gives me just a little increase and shows me that I'm still doing the right things. You might say it should maybe not really matter however when I am able to see my web sites have higher rankings in the search-engines, this itself of course may be the most significant thing. I discovered google authorship by browsing the Internet. It's also a good thing that google are trying to prevent the folks who are trying to cheat their solution to the most effective, that's of course if this is the true reason why there's not been a page position update for many time.
