If you've got (or are thinking about getting) Google Apps for Education, then you need to see this. Nice site that was announced at ISTE this year (2010)
"At Learn it in 5, you'll learn what is Web 2.0, and strategies for using Web 2.0 technology in the digital classroom - all in 5 minutes or less.
Learn it in 5 is a powerful library of how-to videos, produced by technology teachers, for the purpose of helping teachers and students create classroom strategies for today's 21st century's digital classroom. These step-by-step how-to videos walk teachers through Web 2.0 technology, demonstrating how to use Web 2.0 applications like blogs, social networks, podcasts, interactive videos, wikis, slidesharing and much more."
Thanks, I can use this as a resource to cite for the game for students with specific learning disabilities and deficits in executive functioning I am making for LTMS 603.
"Google Earth Outreach gives non-profits and public benefit organizations the knowledge and resources they need to visualize their cause and tell their story in Google Earth & Maps to the hundreds of millions of people who use them. "
"Here's another poster to help get you thinking about how you can apply Bloom's higher-order thinking skills in your classroom. This poster shows the segments of an orange with each segment relating to a thinking skill and some helpful verbs to serve as prompts."
I know several of us are already following Free Technology for Teachers but I am posting this because we do all 11 things in LTMS 600! Thanks to our great teachers and information we share with each other. It is nice to be validated. Soon time for us to use more of these tools in our classroom!
Another "Did You Know" kind of video. Very interesting. should your students see this? Should they discuss it? Does it apply only to Brunswick students?
