    On February 28, we met a man who was beginning his Appalachian Trail thru-hike the next day. We exchanged contact info and he gave me the address of his blog which he would be updated along the way. This was his way of letting his family know where he was and share pictures.

    This educational resource site has been absolutely exploding over the last year plus! It started out primarily has a math-based site, but has evolved into science and has been bought out by a corporate entity which hopes to expand to all the disciplines.

    This is a great page that shows different applications for the iPhone that are designed to assist educators. They include test generators, plagiarizing catching tools, and organizational tools. I also noticed that Moodle is on here, and I want to download that to make my time at Harrisburg University easier as I live with my iPhone. I have not heard of many of these applications, but they look like helpful resources.

      Here is one thing that I feel my district is weak in. Tools don't seem to be placed via need (or at least the need isn't clearly expressed) they seem to be given because they were advertised as a fix all miracle cure for..., well I'm not sure what, because I don't know the goal. (Remember?)  I know this isn't a district website, but I wonder: What do other districts do to analyze tools before implementation?

      This is crucial for those student who live in towns that are not in those areas, because they may have no reference point for those types of terrain. What a great way to build background knowledge before geography lessons or even before reading a story that takes place in these settings! I love Google Maps/Earth!

      Great concept = cheap failure. We have the opportunity for almost everything we create to be a work in progress. You can always learn and build upon your initial attempts. This should give people more freedom to try without the feeling of absolute and unrecoverable failure.

      Not just cheap failure but also instant failure, which is important to our students as well. We talk about rapid prototyping in the program and some in my classroom, which I think is an important note about this technology and an important concept for our students to grasp/be able to deal with. It's a vehicle for learning.
