Fast Follow. Anyone in the US can receive Tweets on their phone even if they haven't signed up for Twitter. This is a simple way for people to get information they care about in real-time. For example, let's say you want to get Tweets from New York City's office of emergency management (@NotifyNYC). Just text 'follow NotifyNYC' to 40404 in the US.
This is VERY easy. Choose the Code type, from a url to contact information, SMS, Text, and more. Complete the form it gives, then click the generate the image. Save it so you can put it on your website. There's even a link to find apps for your phone that will read the codes. I'm using QRky Scan for the Droid and it works perfectly.
I had heard about doing this - but I had not tried it until today. They have really easy shortcuts for looking up info - I am going to try this in my spanish classroom. However, the cell phone should have unlimited text messages because the Google response is 2 texts.
