25 Firefox Extensions to Make You More Productive - 0 views

  • Autocopy - The name pretty much says it all. Instead of having to hit cmd+c (or ctrl + C for our Windows readers), every time you highlight text it automatically copies it to the clipboard. If you don’t want it on 100% of the time, you can toggle it on and off in the bottom-right of the browser.

Well, in the X Window system that's default behaviour. Don't need an extension for that.
  • Scrapbook - Much like the Read it Later extension, Scrapbook allows you to quickly save pages for later reading. However, it has a few more great features, like taking whole snippets of pages (like Google Notebook), searching within snippets, saving whole websites, and you can even organize the snippets like bookmarks. Perfect for researching or in-depth bookmarking.
  • Copy Plain Text- The name pretty much says it all. If you do a lot of writing in WYSIWYG editors (blogging and other word processors), then this extension can come in pretty handy. Copy Plain Text will leave all the bolds, italics and other unwanted formatting when you copy and paste into text fields.
  • ...2 more annotations...
  • FEBE - On the surface, FEBE will quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions. But the fun doesn’t stop there. You can also sync multiple computers with the same Firefox extensions, and even set up automatic backups, ensuring that you’ll never lose your Firefox configurations again.
  • del.icio.us bookmarks - Save, search and share your Del.icio.us bookmarks easily inside of Firefox. Browsing your bookmarks is especially easy with the del.icio.us sidebar.

Free Online Backup, File and Folder Sync, Share & Storage for Windows, Mac, and Linux -... - 0 views

  •
SpiderOak offers a different approach to online backup by combining a suite of services into one consolidated tool - free online backup, synchronization, sharing, remote access, and storage. This difference is further measured in our zero-knowledge privacy policy - the first one ever employed in this setting. Our flexible design allows you to handle data from any operating system (Mac, Windows and Linux) or location (external drives, network volumes, USB keys, etc...) using just one centralized account.

How to synchronize with SSH | Chunhao's Blog - 4 views

  • #!/bin/sh sshfs -o workaround=rename username@sshserver:/path/html/wiki wiki-remote/ echo "Synchronising with sshserver" unison /var/www/dokuwiki/data ./wiki-remote/data \ -fastcheck yes \ -ignore 'Path cache' \ -ignore 'Path locks'
  • Modify it to fit your actual environment. Note that the argument of sshfs command “-o workaround=rename”, this prevents the “renaming problem“.

Make .vagrant tree host-specific · Issue #3362 · mitchellh/vagrant - 4 views

  • I keep my local repos in a Dropbox folder so I can switch between my desktop and laptop seamlessly and still have the current state of everything be synced, including changes that haven't been committed yet.
  • 1. vagrant halt to shutdown machines 2. added "export VAGRANT_DOTFILE_PATH=.vagrant-laptop" to ~/.bashrc 3. open new terminals to inherit the new env var 4. move .vagrant to .vagrant-laptop 5. vagrant up -- it works! 6. change "/.vagrant" to "/.vagrant*" in my .gitignore

Might be useful to get into the habit of using logs for later troubleshooting.
  • –size-only Modifies rsync’s “quick check” algorithm for finding files that need to be transferred, changing it from the default of transferring files with either a changed size or a changed last-modified time to just looking for files that have changed in size

Sounds like webdav clocks gets sufficiently out of sync with the local machine to cause trouble with rsync. I wonder if it leads to unnecessary download of entire files. Does this mean that unison won't work on webdav drives?
