JOG THE WEB is a web-based tool that allows anyone to create a synchronous guide to a series of web sites. Its step by step approach of taking viewers through web sites allowing the author to annotate and ask guiding questions for each page is unique.Give it a try and start creating your own Jogs.New : We have finally found a fix for the Framebuster issue (you know, those pages which systematically made the jog disappear...). I think Cindy posted something similar before but this is a great way to organize a webquest

Cathlin and I attended a conference yesterday about reading and writing digitally. We came away with a lot of great ideas and sites that we will post here. We will also be sharing a full debrief with the technology committee in the fall. QR codes were big....I post about them soon.

National Geographic Explorer Magazine - 3 views

  •
For $258 we could get 21 issues of National Geographic Explorer for the ipad (for each of our 20 ipads in the smith cart) - with 7 K-1 issues, 7 2-3 issues and 7 4-6 issues (also can be used for higher readers in 2-3). Much more cost effective then ordering paper copies, and a great way to make digital literature available in all K-5 classrooms. App is very interactive and connections to grade level science content occur often. http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngexplorer/pioneer/

Apple - Flitch Green Academy - 0 views

  •
Students at the UK public school Flitch Green Academy use iPad, Mac, and iPod touch to create unique learning experiences. The inspiration Flitch Green is a public elementary/middle school located just outside of London. Love the discussion of how the technology builds independence. One of the apps used on the ipad is Puppet Pals one that I use frequently in the classroom - although only on my personal device at this time :(

Newton Public Schools Technology Newsletter - 6 views

  •
This is a new publication that Newton has come out with highlighting the use of technology and ways in which it is seeking to create 21st century learners. Is has some nice articles and some descriptions of how certain technology is used in the classroom. I thought it might be interesting for us to look at how another district is tackling the same issues we are.
