    This website will be a useful tool for teachers to use in learning how to work with a SMART board. The SMART board is a nice way to get the students involved in the lesson, thus it is going to be beneficial if the teacher knows how to use the device. Lastly, technology in the classroom is only growing and the smart board is one of the most commonly used devices in Elementary Schools, so this cheat sheet of how to use the board will be helpful.

  • Click on the Blue Smart Notebook Icon w
  • ith the white circle at the bottom of your screen. Select the Control Panel. Now, click on "Smart Hardware Settings." Click on the blue down arrow and select "Mouse and Gesture Settings." Make sure that you check the box next to "Enable Touch Recognition." You will see other boxes checked as well, just leave them as they are.  Then, click on Apply and then OK.  
  • Click on the Blue Smart Notebook Icon with the white circle at the bottom of your screen. Select the Control Panel. Now, click on "Smart Hardware Settings." Click on the blue down arrow and select "Orientation/Alignment Settings." Select "Fine (20 points)" and click on Apply, then OK.  Now, when you orient your board, you will have 20 plus signs to click in the exact center of to fine tune it.
