"The National Woman's Party, representing the militant wing of the suffrage movement, utilized open public demonstrations to gain popular attention for the right of women to vote in the United States. Their picketing, pageants, parades, and demonstrations-as well as their subsequent arrests, imprisonment, and hunger strikes-were successful in spurring public discussion and winning publicity for the suffrage cause. Women of Protest: Photographs from the Records of the National Woman's Party presents both images that depict this broad range of tactics as well as individual portraits of organization leaders and members. The photographs span from about 1875 to 1938 but largely date between 1913 and 1922. They document the National Woman's Party's push for ratification of the 19th Amendment as well as its later campaign for passage of the Equal Rights Amendment. This online presentation is a selection of 448 photographs from the approximately 2,650 photographs in the Records of the National Woman's Party collection, housed in the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress. "

In the 20th century, however, women in most nations won the right to vote and increased their educational and job opportunities. Fair use is one of the exceptions in copyright which allows use of copyrighted materials without obtaining permission as long as the use can be considered fair. There is a four-factor analysis which must be applied to each use to determine whether the use is fair. Each factor is given equal weight. The goal is to achieve a balance between the rights of the copyright holder with the rights of the public. Fair use is also technologically neutral so the same analysis may be applied to any medium.

The National Center for Earth and Space Science Education has a great motto "Inspire...then Educate." The NCESSE is a great resource for STEM teachers as it creates and oversees different initiatives, projects, and educational resources in these areas, with a focus on Earth and Space. There are a lot of different resources, from professional development, to community projects, to science news and research. There are also free Education Modules for grade K-12 that are very comprehensive and include full lesson plans, background information, activities, assessments, inquiry based hands-on activities, rubrics, handouts and more. There are 5 modules available right now and each module is broken up into three (K-4, 5-8, 9-12) or four (K-2, 3-4, 5-8, 9-12) grade levels. The modules are on topics such as the solar system, earth science, extreme environment of space, human space exploration, and the search for life in the universe. You can download any of the lessons. "Quizlet is how I occupy my free time and even some of my non-free time. My mission for Quizlet is to make learning vocabulary not a chore. I know a lot of teachers assign vocabulary to students, but few students actually "absorb" words into their vocabularies after they take their test. Which kind of defeats the purpose, right? So Quizlet is my response - it aims to make learning fun, thus make learning effective. At the very least, it can help students do better on quizzes and tests even if they don't fully "absorb" their words."
