"The National Economics Challenge is the only national competition to foster interest in economics among high school students by recognizing their achievements and offering a fun and competitive way to showcase their knowledge. The Challenge applies the excitement of an athletic competition to academic excellence and encourages students to apply their economics knowledge, work in teams, and is not only fun, but offers prizes. In each competition teams of students answer rigorous questions on microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics and current events. At the National Championship Finals, the title is decided in a heated competition in a quick-paced oral quiz-bowl round. Try out some sample test questions. Competitions are held at the state, national semifinal and national championship levels. At the national level there is one open division, and all students currently enrolled in high school may compete in the Challenge. Check the rules for more details."

Overview, World Banknote Collection - 0 views

  •
"Welcome to my website. My hobby is collecting paper money from different countries of the world. I dedicate this site exclusively to paper money so that you too can share the joy of my collection. Paper money covers an enormously large field. Collectors can be broadly divided into two major categories, a general collector or a specialized collector. The goal of a general collector is to collect at least one note from each country, whereas that of a specialized collector is to collect notes only in a narrow field of interest. Examples of specialization are: animals, Queen Elizabeth II, $2 bills, serial numbers 888...8, plastic banknotes, hyperinflation banknotes and United States currency."

About Quizlet | Quizlet - 0 views

  •
"Quizlet is how I occupy my free time and even some of my non-free time. My mission for Quizlet is to make learning vocabulary not a chore. I know a lot of teachers assign vocabulary to students, but few students actually "absorb" words into their vocabularies after they take their test. Which kind of defeats the purpose, right? So Quizlet is my response - it aims to make learning fun, thus make learning effective. At the very least, it can help students do better on quizzes and tests even if they don't fully "absorb" their words."

"Starting a research project is exciting, but the process is often frustrating for students. To reinforce the skills necessary to conduct thorough and organized research, we have prepared this Research Right guide and its accompanying worksheets. Instead of searching through numerous sites and jotting down random notes, students can use Research Right as a tool to help them focus and organize information that is pertinent to their final product. Go over these steps each time your class begins a new research project, and they'll be getting their research done right in no time! "

Librophiliac Love Letter: A Compendium of Beautiful Libraries | Curious Expeditions - 0 views

  •
"September 6th, 2007 Librophiliac Love Letter: A Compendium of Beautiful Libraries Everyone has some kind of place that makes them feel transported to a magical realm. For some people it's castles with their noble history and crumbling towers. For others it's abandoned factories, ivy choked, a sense of foreboding around every corner. For us here at Curious Expeditions, there has always been something about libraries. Row after row, shelf after shelf, there is nothing more magical than a beautiful old library. We had a chance to see just such a library on our recent visit to Prague. Tucked away on the top of a hill in Prague is the Strahov Monestary, the second oldest monastery in Prague. Inside, divided into two major halls, is a breathtaking library. The amazing Theological Hall contains 18,000 religious texts, and the grand Philosophical Hall has over 42,000 ancient philosophical texts. Both are stunningly gorgeous. Strahov also contains a beautiful cabinet of curiosities, including bits of a Dodo bird, a large 18th century electrostatic device, numerous wonderfully old ocean specimens, and for unclear reasons many glass cases full of waxen fruit. Our delight was manifest. Shocked into a library induced euphoria, Curious Expeditions has attempted to gather together the world's most beautiful libraries for you starting with our own pictures of Strahov. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do."

Behold | Search High Quality Flickr Images - 0 views

Behold is a search engine that is designed to help you find the best Creative Commons licensed images for your blog, slideshow, or video project. Behold searches the catalog of more than one million Creative Commons licensed images on Flickr. What makes Behold different from just searching by using the license filter on Flickr itself is that Behold searches not just by image tag but also by the quality of the content of the images. When it works correctly if you used Behold to search for images of "buildings in New York City" you would not only be searching the tags people assigned to their images, but you would also be searching the actual content of the images.
