Just in response to Larry's presentation some weeks ago, this is the full text of the speech he was talking about. The whole speech, which Wallace gave to a graduating class at Kenyon College in 2005, is about engagement, and reconsidering how we engage with the world. I think Larry's use of the This Is Water anecdote is really interesting in relation to the changing role of technology. I did my PhD thesis on Wallace's work, and he had a really interesting relationship with technology and engagement. Just thought I'd post the speech for people's reference - more inspiration/aspiration than practical application, perhaps!

This is a great website where you can find hundreds of 10 minute screencasts explaining every conceivable scientific topic. It's something I hope to incorporate to my teaching

They even have some short videos on computer programming. Great resource.

I find this a very useful resource for online tutorials on using different software packages.
