Learn Chinese online with audio files.

Learn about a new country and learn to speak the language. Full profiles provide an instant guide to history, politics and economic background of countries and territories, and background on key institutions. They also include audio and video clips from BBC archives. Select a country, territory or international organisation from the many languages on the website.

Currently, fifteen languages are available: 12 Indo-European and 3 non-Indo-European. There are also two comparative tutorials for those who want to learn two languages simultaneously. Recently, I've begun a project to convert the Foreign Service Institute language programs to HTML format. Lists of vocabulary and verb conjugations are available for some Romance and Germanic languages, as well as other helpful ideas, resources and links for learning foreign languages. Some of the tutorials also include audio resources and online exercises, indicated by the headphones and notebooks below.

A collection of useful phrases in Russian with audio recordings. The Russian recordings are all provided by the good people at A Taste of Russian. Each phrase is pronounced slowly first, then at normal speed.
