Some of these brindle boxers may end up with such a great amount of black striping that it can be quite difficult to get the fawn undercolor. Boxer experts know that there is fawn underneath; however, those people who are uneducated about boxers naturally assume these are black boxer pet dogs.

    Why the deception?

When a backyard breeder sells dogs that he claims are "rare" black boxer dogs, he can sell them for a higher price than the cost at which he offers his other boxer pet dogs. Since many backyard breeders are not quite ethical in a lot of their practices, this price gouging for a falsehood fits in with how these breeders function. Of course, not all backyard breeders are this way; however, any backyard breeder who claims being selling a breed variety that doesn't exist with nature probably doesn't have the highest moral standards.

How come it so impossible for there to remain black boxer dogs?

It's going to take a simple knowledge of genetics to learn. Basically, every being-whether it can be a mammal, like a pet, or an amphibian and anything else-has genes. These genes determine everything about the being, from skin color to the number legs to the location where the eyes are... genes control everything.

Genes control coat color in dogs, too. In order to get a dog to be ebony, that breed of dog must support the gene for having a black coat. Boxer dogs don't have that gene. So, there should not be any black boxer pet dogs. It is genetically difficult for a boxer to have a black coat.
