As per DigiTimes, a Taiwanese agency reported that Foxconn, the leading contract-based maker has acquired orders for making some number of smartphones for Microsoft and Amazon. It is said that these phones would touch shelves in mid phase of next year (2013).

Microsoft declares its patent licensing agreement signed-off with Foxconn i.e. Hon Hai. The agreement includes devices powered up with Android and Chrome OS, like smartphones and tablets, and is also believed to have televisions. With this deal Hon Hai is the most recent in what is augmenting numbers of manufacturers with Android and Chrome patent licenses.
