  American technology giant Cisco is betting big on India and has submitted a proposal to the government as part of the Make in India initiative.
  
  Cisco has proposed investing $5 billion over the next five years to boost the manufacturing in the country. 
  
  It plans to set up a production facility with contract manufacturing partners which could manufacture set-top boxes, IP phones, routers, and switching equipment. The company had sought a favourable policy in exchange of this as it expects to create 11000 job opportunities in the country.
