  • What was ignored was the word of mouth, brand loyalty that was built as well as evaluating what you were saying to your audience that  persuaded them to buy. Was it price? Competitor’s failure to communicate? What are you saying to your audience that persuades them to notice, comprehend and take action?

  • how we are better than the rest and how we can solve their problem
    • Carolyn Reeb

      By what persuasive techniques?
  • communicate to create dialogue, conversation and engagement. We are establishing a communication channel that is persuading people to listen.
  • If they do not accept the message they act by either voicing their opinion or ignoring.
  • we communicate, we are persuading
    • Carolyn Reeb

AGAIN! The Media (we) is INTENT on persuading
  • are persuading them to listen, accept, comprehend and act
  • stages of brand perception and acceptance.

CLick this = ways of persuasion = brand acceptance! Brand loyalty is POWERFUL
  • We buy from people/a brand that we hear,
    • Carolyn Reeb

Now the 'we' is also identifying the media as the consmer = put ourselves in 'their' shoes
  • Crafting a message
  • needs to guide and direct them
  • to persuade them and the repeats to buy
  • Unaware. Introducing your brand
  • Aware. Those that are aware but not yet sold on your message
  • need to be nurtured and pushed along through repeat communications.
  • Acceptance. Are they accepting what you are saying?
  • We trust people/brands that make us trust them.
  • Action. We want people to take action from our communications.
  • In social media we are visual.
  • Aristotle in his book, The Art of Rhetoric, equated communication to persuasion.

  • "power of the crowd"
  • 1960s, psychologists Stanley Milgram, PhD, Leonard Bickman, PhD, and Lawrence Berkowitz, EdD, demonstrated social influence by having a group of people on a busy New York City sidewalk gaze up at nothing in the sky. When one man looked up at nothing, only 4 percent of passersby joined him. When five people stood on the sidewalk looking up at nothing, 18 percent of passersby joined them. And when a group of 15 gazed upward, 40 percent of passersby then joined, nearly stopping traffic in one minute

  • Serhiy Zhadan
  • Zhadan’s beating has caused a great deal of protest among Russians, and referred me to a statement released by the Russian PEN Center, which reads, in part, “We are observing a severe noetic crisis, akin to what was described by Orwell: the meanings of the words ‘peace,’ ‘war,’ ‘fascism,’ and ’democracy,’ ‘defense,’ and ‘invasion’ are shamelessly warped.”)

Glock Family Goes Down, Guns Blazing - The Daily Beast - 0 views

  • No doubt Smith hopes to paint Glock as a monster once again, and the theatrical complaint pulls no punches. Glock’s actions, Smith writes, “resemble the senseless and self-destructive rage of Shakespeare’s King Lear, when he foolishly mistreats a loyal but candid daughter, Cordelia, in favor of cunning and ruthless flatterers. Perhaps neither pathology nor psychology can provide a satisfactory explanation for why an aging billionaire would spend his twilight years seeking to terrorize members of his own family.”
