    The Cape Winelands is a beautiful region of picturesque hills and fertile valleys - well suited for producing wine. Home to numerous internationally renowned South Africa wine locations, The Cape Winelands are situated in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, under and hours drive from Cape Town. There are said to be over 200 wine cellars in your community, providing plenty of choice when it comes to sampling!

    Stellenbosch Wine Region

    The Stellenbosch Wine Region has become the best known wine producing region within The Cape Winelands. It was the first location to set up a wine route in the early 1970s. There are many great wine locations to visit in the region Zevenwacht, including: Spier, and Zorgvliet. The town of Stellenbosch was founded by Simon van Der Stel in 1679, and is the second oldest town in South Africa. The heritage of the city is preserved well, with many of the original historical structures still in existence across the oak lined avenues. If you are interested in the history of the region there are many museums and monuments in the city.

    Franschhoek Wine Place

    Established more than 300 years ago by Calvinists, The Franschhoek Wine Region is surrounded by the mountains, and the Franchhoek. The Franschhoek Wine Region houses some of South Africa's most readily useful restaurants including the Monneaux at Franschhoek Country House and Le Quartier Francais, which are worth a visit.     Hermanus Wine Area

    The Hermanus Wine Region has 45 wine estates. The best place to use all the local wines (in addition to cheese and olives) is the yearly Hermanus Wine and Food Fair, where all the local producers present their food and wonderful wines. Hermanus is among the most useful places on the planet to do whale-watching. For the more adventurous there's the chance to dive with great white sharks.
