Fred Wilson- A VC- Musings of a VC in NYC Fred is a long term NYC based VC who funded some of the late 90's Silicon Alley ventures. I noted somebody mentioned Seth Godin above. As Flatiron Partners Fred Wilson was a funder behind Seth's Yoyodyne online marketing company that was sold to Yahoo. On Fred's blog is a post about "Disruption" and link to the video of a presentation recently given at Google surveying industries and where opportunities for investing in disruption exist. It is highly recommended viewing for a look ahead.

This video was created as a conversation starter, and works especially well when brainstorming with people about the near future and the skills needed in order to harness, evaluate, and create information effectively.

We know that an individual's recall and their actual experience may be quite different. This excellent talk shows just how different the 'remembering self' can be from the 'experiencing self'.  Using examples from vacations to colonoscopies, Nobel laureate and founder of behavioral economics Daniel Kahneman reveals how our "experiencing selves" and our "remembering selves" perceive happiness differently. This new insight has profound implications for economics, public policy -- and our own self-awareness.
