Gaggle.Net - Free Filtered E-mail for Schools and Students - 1 views

  •
Gaggle.Net works on any computer with Internet access and a browser. All controls are displayed in a standard web page. There are no additional windows, no special controls, and no outside programs to be accessed. The benefit of a completely web-based solution is that students (and the teacher) can access their email, respond, and even use their address book on any computer, with any browser in any location -- home, library, or the classroom. When students can read and respond to email at home, it saves valuable classroom time and extends the learning experience.

Internet Tutorials - 0 views

  •
This Internet Tutorials site is intended as an introduction for people interested in learning about the Internet and especially the World Wide Web: what it is, how to search it, and how to use it as a research tool. This site has existed in one form or another since 1996. Over the years, it has been used by everyone from pre-teens to senior citizens all over the world. My purpose is to explain the basics of the Web as clearly as I can. The site is suitable for self-paced study. There aren't a lot of bells and whistles here. Mostly I attempt to explain how things work with prose. Most examples are in the form of screenshots.

Seismic Education Site: UPSeis - 0 views

  •
"UPSeis (pronounced "up size") is a program created to teach young people (and not-so-young people) more about the planet we live on and how it works. The UPSeis program is divided into two parts: this web site and a school program. In the UPSeis web site, we'll be talking mostly about the science of seismology and earthquakes: where they happen, why they happen, and what kinds of problems they cause. We'll tell you things you may already know and some stuff you may have never thought about."

America's Story - 0 views

  •
This Web site is brought to you from the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the largest library in the world and the nation's library. We hope you will find this Web site entertaining and fun to use. And, of course, we hope you will learn something from it. The site was designed especially with young people in mind, but there are great stories for people of all ages, and we hope children and their families will want to explore this site together.

Each month, PBS reaches more than 110 million people through their local stations and nearly 19 million people online, inviting them to experience the worlds of science, history, nature and public affairs; to hear diverse viewpoints; and to take front row seats to world-class drama and performances. PBS' broad array of programs has been consistently honored by the industry's most coveted award competitions. Teachers of children from pre-K through 12th grade turn to PBS for digital content and services that help bring classroom lessons to life.
