Al-Ahram is now covering protests. I call it partially the Shukrallah factor (with Hani Shukrallah returning to Al-Ahram, as a managing editor of the daily Arabic paper) and largely due to the alarm bells with Al-Ahram losing market and readership for Al-Masry Al-Youm. If you skim through Al-Ahram, you'll find now stories and features on steel workers, corruption, serious investigative work that exposes govt negligence.

Al-Ahram runs a sensationalist editorial on page 1, titled: Labor strikes threaten the revolution.
