Welcome to Reedy Technologies. This site has been designed to provide technology resources to educators. Its focus is to assist teachers in the integration of technology across the curriculum. Grade Level Resources This area has been divided into grade specific sections. Each grade level has general resources at the top for all subject areas and then subject specific resources below that section. Teacher Resources This area contains resources specifically for the classroom such as lesson plans, units, rubrics, worksheets, virtual field trips, and internet tools for the classroom.

Welcome to the Maine Content Literacy Project's Technology, Literacy, and Content (TLC) site. TLC contains a collection of unit exemplars that were designed to strategically utilize technology and literacy instruction in order to support and deepen content area understanding.  The site includes units for elementary, middle, and secondary school students that provide examples of effective literacy and technology integration in the core content areas of Social Studies, English Language Arts, Math, and Science.  Each unit contains unit plans, lesson plans, resource materials, instructional tools, and exemplar videos.    The units, lessons, videos, and resources are free to use by schools for instruction or professional development.  

I've also noticed that a lot of our students struggle to learn without direct teacher instruction - they don't seem to be as independent in their learning as I've come to expect. I'm not sure if that's because we are living in Japan, where literally every single thing comes with explicit instructions (e.g. the audio warnings everywhere you go, like "You are now on the escalator, hold the handrail and stand on the left," or this interesting story about Crocs) or if they're just used to being directly told what to do. I want to make sure that my students understand that they can learn anytime, anywhere, from anyone who is willing and able to share their knowledge. I want them to have the skills not only to be able to find out the answer, but also to share what they know. I'm glad to see that other teachers are trying the same thing too…

This website has been designed to provide Teachers with a repertoire of digital literary resources for the teaching of literary texts, particularly recounts. The activities on this website can be used as standalone individual activities or alternatively, as a series of activities which would form the digital component of an English unit focusing on recount. The series also addresses the use of multimodal texts to target the teaching of comprehending.

iMovie has made a surge into classroom instruction, in part because of the rapid growth in the field of digital video and partly because of Apple's superior software design that offers tremendous ease for the user. Like all educational technology, desktop video editing is not a ubiquitous solution for all of the challenges teachers face in today's classroom. Teachers using digital video, in particular iMovie, have provided an abundance of anecdotal evidence for encouraging individual expression, spawning creativity, revitalizing content, promoting collective knowledge construction and individual reflection, and offering students of a variety of backgrounds and experiences to engage in authentic learning.
