New writers struggle with how to develop a plot. Here is a simple guide. By "simple", I mean these are the basic steps. Nothing stops you from repeating them or having multiple plots following parallel trajectories.

This idea can sound intimidating, but it works. Creative writing allows writers to step away from their personal life, and create an entirely fictional universe in which they are in control and there is no longer a need to conform to anyone else's ideas or opinions.

Not every book can be a thriller or a heartbreaker. But yours can. It is a superb way to stand out from the crowd - to produce a book that stands head and shoulders above other books in your field. Keep them reading, pull at their emotions, and your book is more likely to make its point.
