  Dog instruction collars always seemed therefore mean if you ask me particularly the choker collars. I'd one for my dog when I was little. My father used it to teach my dog. Obviously, because the trainer and breeder said, they certainly were the only real really effective method to train your puppy.
  
  But dad was good with mine. A little slight yank to get the point across and my dog was sure to respond. Nevertheless, I've seen people be positively bad with them; to the point that canine cried out in pain. This of course is not surprising when the dog is lifted off of their feet by a chain that's choking the air out of them.
  
  If you ask me the whole dog instruction collar thing seems to sort of not in favor of lots of the other stuff I've read. Everyone else seems to say that you should not yell at your dog if they do anything wrong, but rather show them the right behavior and reward them for this. For this end the choker collar appears to be a little out of the scope of things. Im not positive but I'm convinced that choking your dog, whether gently or almost to the level of death can not be looked at positive reinforcement.
  
  There has to be other dog training collars that work as well but, then again not since the chocker seems to be the most common. I also have just learned of yet another atrocity in this area, as my friend sitting alongside me just apprised me of-the fact that some collars have guys so that when the owner chokes the dog the dog also gets stabbed; appears so gentle and efficient doesnt it?.
