EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Though Minnesota state lawmakers appear likely to insist that a roof be part of any public deal for a new Vikings stadium, the team is sticking with its offer to pay about a third of the bill -- minus whatever a roof would cost. Vikings vice president and stadium point man Lester Bagley said in an interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday that the Vikings would prefer an outdoor stadium, but understood that might not win legislative approval when lawmakers in February take up the team's request for a stadium funded in part by taxpayers.

Clinton Township police arrest man after search for missing girl - 0 views

  •
CLINTON TWP. - A search for a missing 16-year-old girl that lasted more than three hours led police to arrest a 21-year old Pennsylvania man on Jan. 6, police said today. The search began around 8:35 p.m. Dec. 30 when Patrolman Andrew McCluskey was dispatched to a township home on the report of a missing girl. Throughout the night, McCluskey checked with the girl's friends and continued to check whether she'd returned home. Among those contacted was Samuel Scott, of Tatamy, Pa. Police said he told them he hadn't seen the girl in more than a month but that he'd be willing to help in the search. Around midnight, Scott called police and reported he'd found her at a truck stop in Bloomsbury. Police said McCluskey met the girl, Scott and several "young adults" at a car outside the girl's home. The girl was unresponsive, and reeked of alcohol and vomit, according to police. Clinton rescue squad responded and took the unresponsive girl to Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment. Police said that an investigation revealed that during the search the group, including the girl, had been in Scott's truck driving around and drinking rum. Scott was charged with obstruction of justice and released.
