I think this is interesting news because we are always questioning the presence of other planets, so the discovering 50 other planets outside of our solar system, including 16 that could be like earth but bigger? Thats huge news. And I wanna hear about the details.

I found this interesting because I love learning about space and the possibility that we found a planet that may support life is very exciting. This has timeliness, because it happened yesterday. This also has importance/impact, because it could lead to the discovery of alien life forms. This also is of unusual nature because this event does not happen every day.

NASA's Kepler Telescope Finds Planet Orbiting Two Stars - NYTimes.com - 3 views

  •
It is the first planet, astronomers say, that has been definitely shown to be orbiting two stars at once, circling the pair - which themselves orbit each other tightly - at a distance of some 65 million miles.

From double sunrise to double sunset the show goes on, always changing. Sometimes the orange sun rises first. Sometimes it is the red one, although they are never far apart in the sky and you can see them moving around each other, casting double shadows across the firmament and periodically crossing right in front of each other.

With 7 billion on earth, a huge task before us - CNN.com - 0 views

  •
With 7 billion on earth, a huge task before us (CNN) -- Just 12 years after the arrival of the 6 billionth individual on the planet in 1999, humanity will greet the 7 billionth arrival this month. The world population continues its rapid ascent, with roughly 75 million more births than deaths each year. The consequences of a world crowded with 7 billion people are enormous. And unless the world population stabilizes during the 21st century, the consequences for humanity could be grim.
