App Store - Mr. MoonLight : Kids Visual Alarm Clock and Nightlight for Sleep Training - 0 views

  • $2.99
  • Visual "sun" and "moon" cues teach young children, ages 2 to 5, to distinguish between the cycles of day and night and learn healthy sleep patterns. Mr. MoonLight displays a glowing moon in the evening (or for afternoon nap) and quietly changes to a sun, (at a time parents specify), to confirm that nighttime or nap time is over and it is okay to wake up. If your child wakes up too early, use this app to teach them to rest quietly until "the sun comes up" at the time that you set.

Aquaria - App Review - 0 views

  • As Naija, you'll explore a stunning underwater world trying to fill holes in your memory. While there's some combat, this is a game about character development. The most interesting element to the game is the use of music. Learning new abilities (such as transformation or shields) is essentially a game of Simon (i.e. parroting back notes), but the songs of Naija, blended with the background music, make this an incredibly soothing game that makes time fade away. The app suggests playing with headphones -- and it really does improve the experience.

App Store - Wipe and Learn -- the interactive, talking flash cards for early learning - 0 views

  • This app will help your child discover, recognize and say 575 everyday words while developing his/her motor skills in a fun and interactive way. It does that by hiding a beautiful, real picture of an item behind sand. As your child moves the fun companion (plane, scoop, bird and sixteen others), sand is removed and the picture beneath is revealed. When your child fully uncovers the picture, a short musical sound is played and the word is spoken in a broadcast quality, studio recorded voice of a professional voice talent. Your child can listen to this voice again simply by touching a card.

Toca Kitchen - App Review - 0 views

  • $1.99
  • Parents need to know Toca Kitchen does not have any rules or accomplishments; it is a fun, imaginative tool for kids to explore food selection and preparation. Kids first select one of four characters: a boy, a girl, a cat, or a bull. Then, kids open the fridge to select one of 12 food items, including meat, fish, vegetables, an egg, and hay. Kids can then try to feed the character the food raw, or prepare it with a knife, food processor, pot of water, frying pan, or microwave. As can be seen in this trailer, the food changes in response to the preparation, for example being sliced, ground up, or browned. Different characters react to the food in different ways -- for example, the bull loves the hay, which is rejected by the other characters. Since the app is easy to use, but can be a bit repetitive, it's best for younger kids
