The Tradition of Jews Eating Chinese Food on Christmas - 2 views

Even though this article doesn't necessarily pertain to our class topic about noodles, I thought it was interesting to share this and how it connects to me. I'm Jewish and every Christmas my family has always eaten Chinese food. Because of this, I have grown a connection to Chinese food and look forward to it every Christmas. This Jewish tradition has been popular for so long because typically Chinese restaurants are the only places open on Christmas eve. It has become such a trend that you need reservations because most places are at maximum capacity. It is really interesting how two cultures are tied in and brought together by food.

Most people know what foods make them feel best and worst. There is an obvious relationship between what we consume and our mood/state of mind. Certain foods boost energy and others can have an opposite effect of giving a lazy feeling. This continues the discussion in class on our relationship with food, as some instances can be either positive or negative.
