I don't know how I missed this website before. Yet another go-to site for free, helpful online resources to enhance classroom teaching. The website creator won the ISTE's Young Educator of the year award. That is not a surprise after checking out the site. Some future discoveries will probably be related to playing around on this site.

Twitter Search - 0 views

This will give you a chance to search trending topics by #hashtag on Twitter without having to log in to an actual Twitter account. This could be beneficial in a classroom to remove some of the personal connection while still providing the students with live media. Current events are simply summarized and given personal perspective on Twitter, without the students seeing a random comment about what one of my friends is having for lunch.

The Social Neuroscience of Empathy - 0 views

  •
During the Opening Keynote the phrase "Theory of Mind" was used and the work of Luis Oceja was mentioned. I have found a bunch of resources that will help me understand both topics. As a teacher, having someone show through science why humans can not be replaced in the classroom by computers is comforting. It all ties back to the social neuroscience of empathy and the theory of mind.

ISTE | The newest PPS TRT.... - 0 views

All the work done in these presentations were done in either a kindergarten or 1st grade classroom. The students did all the paper and pencil and digital work (using KidPix) on their own. I saved their work and made it into a presentation to share with the class on the Promethean Board.

Throw away the worksheet, open your mind to exploring creativity in the classroom to meet the standards and engage your students with direct involvement . Worksheets don't grow dendrites, not that students even realize they are growing them to begin with! They also don't engage the students to where they want to be part of the learning environment.
