Quest Atlantis (QA) is an international learning and teaching project that uses a 3D multi-user environment to immerse children, ages 9-16, in educational tasks. Participation in this game is designed to enhance the lives of children while helping them grow into knowledgeable, responsible, and empathetic adults.

At a time when we have access to two billion potential teachers and a world of knowledge, we and our students need to begin to shift our learning practice in some significant ways. We need to be adept at reaching out to others, at parsing information, and at solving real problems, and more. This presentation covers eight of these shifts that we need to integrate into every class regardless of age or discipline.
