  Spring-cleaning: for some a chore for others a joy. I learned about this routine at an early on age. Now, the thought of spring-cleaning evokes precious memories.
  
  The cool suppressing days of cold temperatures were brought out with an annual farm ritual: spring-cleaning, when I was a youngster, back in the not one of them water (Manitoba) and area of four times. Number part of our house was left untouched by brooms, dusters, scrub brushes, rags and other cleaning guns. Every inch of cabinet was emptied, selections were taken, value was evaluated, areas were washed and cleaned, and then those clothes that were still 'good' were organized in a useful and effective way. Bedrooms were moved, desks emptied, ceilings dusted.
  
  My memory of choice is the window washing. After windowpanes were removed for cleaning, the windowsill became a spot of pure inspiration! I will simply recall those moments: sitting on my great perch, watching the ice break up in the creek behind our house. Large parts floated by, breaking loudly, turning, crunching, mounting up in a chaotic proclamation of the newest season's birth. Outdoors was in abundance; pussy willows to the left, bird feeders with chirping chickadees to the proper. It was incredible!
  
  It was that type of day where I discovered that effort takes care of. At that early age, I felt the change of power in my home and in myself after having a time of extensive de-cluttering and cleaning. The home felt lighter, brighter, more happy.
