"To make things more difficult for the new iPad owner (grin) or perhaps you have a class set and are wondering what to load, I offer Doug's Dozen. Taken from the experience of a guy who has nothing better to do that search for the best in class in any application, I took a look at the top applications that I use regularly and offer them below for your thoughts, criticisms, and one-up-ed-ness."

"Today I visited the new Waverly Shell Rock Middle School, in Waverly, Iowa. Their school was devastated by flooding back in 2008. With the help from FEMA, state, and local resources, the school reopened in the fall of 2011 as a 5th grade thru 8th grade middle school featuring a 1:1 ipad rollout to all 600 students."

"This weekend, my family and I were camping in north central Minnesota, and Internet connection-both 3G and wi-fi were sporadic. In one of the situations where we had service, I saw Tony Vincent's (a leader in educational technology who I have seen speak in person) tweet about Matthew Gudenius's "No iPad" video series:"

iPads in my classroom « Farmer's Class - 1 views

"My school was lucky enough to get a class set of iPads (unless you have a class with over 30 students), and I was lucky enough to be the one in charge of looking after them. Since I am the one in charge of them and the one who really pushed to get them, it seems necessary that I make the most out of these devices. To do this, I have made them a daily part of my grade 12 class, and am currently using them daily with my grade 9 and 10 locally developed class. It has been about three weeks since the start of the semester and the start of my use of iPads in the classroom so I thought I would take the time to reflect on them."
