Many educators have asked - "Is the iPad the correct tool to aid learning in education?" Having read several articles and well as witnessing first hand the implementation of iPad programs in several K12 educational establishments. I still don't have a definitive answer, but I suppose it depends on the goals of your educational establishment and the age group of learners and what they need to achieve by using the iPad.

This specific iPad 3rd Gen model also supports 4G LTE connectivity (700, 2100 MHz), intended for use on AT&T's network in the US and Bell, Rogers and Telus in Canada, as well as A-GPS. Battery life is reportedly 10 hours "surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music" and 9 hours surfing the web using cellular data. Compared to the iPad 2 models, major differences for the iPad 3rd Gen line include a higher-resolution display, faster processor, better camera, and improved connectivity. *In response to criticism from consumer groups and government agencies, Apple formally changed the advertising of this model from "Wi-Fi + 4G" to "Wi-Fi + Cellular" starting around May 12, 2012.

the iPhone G has finally been unlocked. As of a couple of hours ago, the unlocking app called Yellowsn0w, created by a group of hackers calling themselves the iPhone Dev Team, is now available as a free download.

Although our focus is K-12, many of the techniques should work for you at any level and with any number of devices. On the wiki side of this site are the deployment and management articles, and on the blog side, you will find the classroom activities (written primarily by teachers) where iPods are supporting achievement improvement for our students. We are posting as many help and how-to articles here as we can and as quickly as we can so you can continue to be successful using iPod devices in your classroom.
